Neckties are men fashion accessories and a master-piece to show your fashion favor. To keep your favorite neckties long lasting, those men’s tie tips are recommended for necktie cleaning, pressing, storage, and care.

Men’s ties can be dirty after using for a while. Do not wash those ties by hand with water or laundry with washing machines. The normal way is to send your neckties to a dry cleaner. The professional cleaners can help clean your neckties. Or you neckties could shrink with a fading color and look rumpled. If not that dirty, you also can help yourself. Two ways work for your necktie cleaning. One is wet cleaning and the other is dry cleaning. The wet cleaning is to put neckties on a flat board or table and brush with soft brushed dipping with a little diluted detergent. Rub away the foam with a dry towel and then scrub with clean wet towels. Dry clean is to brush with soft brushes dipping with gasoline. The brushing pass should follow the woven patterns. After the gas evaporates, gently brush several times with clean wet towels. If only light stain, the evaporated oil is a good choice for the stained spots. If a whole necktie is necessary to be cleaned, you can still wash it for yourself. First, make a diluted solution with 20cc evaporated oil and 1cc kitchen neutral detergent. Put that solution into a bottle with a big opening. Shake and make it even. Put the rolled neckties into the bottle and cover the bottle with a lid. Shake it around 10 minutes and set aside for 10 minutes. Repeat the above procedure once. The stained spots can be brushed gently with a tooth brush in that solution.

The following pressing tips give you a refreshing necktie. Before pressing, put rolled paper rods into both inner side edges and it avoids permanent creases for the edges. Put a towel on the neckties during the pressing. Set the appropriate temperature based on your necktie materials and iron from the center to around. Silk ties are so delicate to the heat so that faster pressing move is recommended.

As for short term storage, roll neckties up loosely and put them in your wardrobe. If long term consideration, the clean neckties are put into a plastic bag and hang up in the change room. You also can store neckties in a tie box but well ventilation condition is highly recommended to silk ties.

The daily necktie care is necessary for a long lasting tie and the following tips are great for your necktie care. After tying, you should untie the necktie knot and flatten both large end and small end of the tie. Avoid drag neckties too much.  Or the fiber could be broken and permanent ceases can be made. Hanging and rolling are two recommended storage ways. The only thing you should be careful is to make sure that the storage place has a smooth surface. So your neckties have no concern for the scratching damage. Always have multiple neckties for switch. So your neckties have some time to relax and refresh a bit. If stained spots or food on the neckties, clean it immediately. When you are driving, don’t bind your necktie with the safety belt. So you have a tidy necktie when you get out of your car.

    Dress for success –

    A professional look promotes

    credibility, respect, and ultimately, success

A Silk tie is a great finishing piece. It’s an accessory that, for lack of a better term, ties a suit together. Silk Ties have been a part of a well dressed man’s wardrobe for over 350 years

Hakashi is a synonym for Handsome and Catchy.

To enhance masculine beauty Silk Tie is not merely a clothing but it is a designer cosmetic.

You know the old proverb ” There is no ugly man in the world, but there are men who do not know how to look handsome. Silk Ties enhances the handsomeness of the young as well as of experienced, fresh and seasoned people.

Chances are you already know the conventional wisdom when it comes to dressing for interviews. Wear a suit with a silk tie right?

For men a suit in a dark neutral color, a white or blue dress shirt and a silk tie in a conservative pattern should do just fine for most interviews. Stick to natural fabrics like wool and cotton.

Depending on what kind of position you are seeking, the industry you’re searching in and the personality statement you want to make, you’ll have to decide how to best express yourself through your ties.

How to Iron a Silk Tie.

Ties wrinkle primarily when they are knotted and need occasional ironing.

    Steps:

    1. Check tags on tie for information about fabric type.

    2. Plug in Iron and set temperature dial accordingly. Many ties are made of silk or polyster blends and will need a cool setting . Wool ties need a medium setting and cottons can take a fairly high temperature.

    3. Place tie lengthwise on ironing board with back of tie facing up.

    4. Place a cotton cloth flat over area to be ironed and carefully iron your tie.

    5. Iron bottom to top in small portions from the edges inward to avoid creasing.

    6. Lift cover cloth periodically to check progress.

    7. Turn tie face up and Iron, taking care not to leave the iron in any one spot for too long.

    8. Hang tie immediately so that it cools with wrinkling.

Tips: The cover cloth keeps your tie from scorching, sticking, discoloring or getting shiny.

Avoid spot cleaning your tie just before ironing. Any damp spots will become permanent stains if you Iron them.

Here are some tips to choose the perfect colour:

The main colour of a patterned tie should complement your suit and the secondary colour should pick up your shirt, in case you’re wearing a suit.

The texture of the tie should go with your outfit, for instance a shiny silk tie should go with a shiny silk shirt and a wool tie should be worn with a wool suit.

Your tie should be darker than the colour of your shirt.

    Fabrics that’ll flatter:

Though silk is the universal favourite, recent trends show that satin, polyester and cotton-blended fabrics are becoming the new favourites.

However, experts swear that the best material for ties is either silk or a polyester and silk blend.

    Caring for your Silk tie:

Always unknot your tie when you are not wearing it, leaving it knotted can damage the tie and cause create permanent wrinkles. This allows the silk fibres to recover.

Always hang your tie when not in use. This will allow heavy creases to drop out naturally.

For grease stains on a tie, apply cornstarch and leave overnight.

    Silk Tie shopping tips:

” Select an appropriate length and width. That depends on your body size and fashion trends too!

” Try not to buy on sight alone. Touch the tie. Feel it! If you don’t like the feel, you won’t wear it!

” Remember to check the inside of the tie. The inside should be lined with a stiff material so the tie will keep its shape no matter what!

When people have a plan to buy a silk tie, they can either go to men’s store or simply click online. They could find a confused phenomenon: even all labeled with 100% silk content tag, it has a wide price range from $5 to over $70. What is behind the scene of 100% silk? The following price-determined factors would show you the answer.

    Brand Name
Brand name is one of the most important factors for the price. If luxury brand names are considered, the price could be over $70 or way more. It is really difficult to weigh the brand factor exactly and more personal preference in it. Because most of the silk ties are within the range of $5 – $70, those silk neckties are the focus of our discussion.

    Production Origin
Two largest production bases are Italy and China. Italy is famous for its excellent design and China provides a larger proportion of silk ties in the world with a cheaper price. With the widely use of high end fabric woven machine, there is not much difference on the quality from both countries. Some larger silk tie manufacturers in China cooperate with Italian silk tie design studio so silk ties are a global product now.

    Fabric Thread Density
In the current silk tie market, you could find three thread densities: 960, 1200, and more. Most high quality silk ties are 1200 or more. The less density has a loose fabric feel so it can be identified by a hand touch. Pricewise, it is cheaper with a lower density.

    Inlay
Inlay is the fabric wrapped inside the outer silk. It makes a tie heavier and drape well. Two main inlay fabrics are polyester and wool. Polyester is more widely used for its durability and cheaper price. The inlay fabric cannot be read through the fabric tag.

    Lining
Lining is the backside of the silk ties for both large end and small end. Those fabrics can be the same silk fabric as the front face or polyester. As you know, the former is a little more expensive.

    Coloring
Silk ties can be classified into two categories based on the coloring methods: printed and woven. The printed silk tie means that the patterns are printed onto the raw silk fabric with screen-printing. Each color must have a separate screen printed. More colorful patterns, more printing work and more cost. So the solid color printed silk tie is cheaper than the others. The woven silk tie comes from the weaving process through warp and weft. The woven threads have pre-dyed colors so that any patterns can be produced from striped to parsley. The pattern can be designed with professional software and woven by a computer-controlled weaving machine.

The silk tie manufacture process is becoming more mature with the mass production development. Usually, the brand name silk ties, not luxury one, are around $70. The same quality without famous brand costs you around $30 to $40 in the department store. The same quality made in Italy is usually $10 more expensive than the one made in China. Online shopping will save you at least $10 with the same silk tie. If you are serious about the quality of your neckties, don’t consider the silk ties under $10 unless they are really good deals.

We were asked to offer a critical review on current styles and future trends for silk neckties by Fibre2 fashion. So we got to the core.

What are the elements of a good Necktie? First of all, the proportions, blade width and length, should be 85mm to 90mm x 1540 to 1560mm long. The chosen fabric must incorporate a balance of colour pattern and texture. There is also the quality of interlining. Many consider 100% wool to be best; however, it reacts greatly with atmospheric changes absorbing moisture and can buckle your tie.

According to seasoned tie makers wool blends are the best, they also recommend taffeta tipping instead of silk because it adds weight to the end of ties so it will hang better.

What are the trends that are currently in vogue in neckties? The current trends vary from brand to brand. There is a strong generic flavour inherent in most mainline brands; stripes are the strongest and most popular, then there are polka dots, some paisley and interesting geometric shapes, the colours, still blues and reds for conservatism.

There’re very few floral’s on the market, they too are generic, which sums up the current state of the market, everything is pretty much the same. There is a large niche to filled and customers wanting to buy, but few retailers are willing to take the gamble of being truly different.

Where do you see the market for neckties in the next 5 years? Women’s fashion always has strong influences on men’s fashion, only it is watered down to masculine acceptance. Spring summer 2009 is going to be alive with floral’s for men and women. The skinny tie has withered away and the traditional broader style is back in vogue as always.

The next five years will see men making more of their own choices of clothing style, especially accessories. The demand for luxury, bespoke, handmade silk ties is steadily growing and helping keep a long standing English weaving and manufacturing industry alive.

In keeping with Jean Patou and French designer of the 1920’s who used women’s dress fabric material for his designer silk ties and had them displayed next to women’s cosmetic sections. They were a huge hit, so we took a leaf out of his book and thought it time for a return to floral ties in the tradition of Jean Patou.

The brands to watch over the next five years are Vivienne Westwood, Timothy Everest, Victoria Richards and Patrick McMurray; they are true independent’s that set standards of style at both ends of the scale.

What are the points that one should keep in mind in choosing a necktie? Firstly, the value is in the product not the name. Depending on ones budget, feel for the weight of the tie, rub the fabric gently between your fingers and you can judge quite easily the density of silk and lining.

A well designed tie, apart from construction, should contain the right balance of colour, pattern and texture regardless of style type.

You can expect to pay about £45 and upwards for a good quality tie handmade in England, be ware of imitations and counterfeits, the internet is rife.

How much does a necktie contribute to the style quotient of a person? A silk tie is the epitome of male self expression; it reflects his mood and character and brings a collection of clothing together. In fact, rather than being classified as an accessory, it becomes a central focal point for comment.

How has public attitude towards neckties changed in the last decade? In the fashion industry attitudes are changing all the time, concurrent with fashion itself, there was the dress down era, now we are returning to the dress up and dandy era, so as styles change so do attitudes.

Neckties are separated by era from 1920’s to today. From the style point of view, neckties are also categorized into wide, extra long, square end, knit, silk ties. In the past, ties were worn with up to a five inch width. Ties started to get thinner in the mid 1950’s era. The style of common neckties is beginning to widen, excluding some designer ones. Accessories should compliment an outfit and neckties are an example of an accessory. The necktie that goes around your neck should go with your body frame.

Silk neckties are the best in quality. There is a lot of work involved in making silk. This is far more expensive to produce compared to other fabrics. Even to get enough silk to make a silk tie, you need lots of time and millions of tiny silk cocoons woven by silk worms. Once woven together and reinforced, the silk fabric can then be dyed with the desired color through a natural, organic staining process or through highly advanced chemical coloring.

Men’s silk ties are a fashion statement that show a man’s fashion panache. The necktie is usually dismissed as a necessary evil present only to satisfy dress codes and traditions. You can accent your outfit by adding a selected necktie. They also exude an aura of luxury and being in command. In addition, ties are the best annotation for the unique and deep inner world of men. Ties are an excellent creations for men. Most people notice your tie first because it is near eye level. Silk ties are an essential part of a man’s life and necessary to present a civilized, professional image. The clothes you wear give out a signal regarding the social status to rest of society. Neckties are a great way to add flair or express your personality.

If you are going to wear a necktie, you need to be aware that certain dress codes do exist. White and black neckties are usually worn with formal outfits. When you pair a tie with those colors, it give you an air of formality. If you would like some extra fashion points, match your neckties with a pair of cufflinks.
